While the participating photographers can hail from any country, each image in the contest must be taken on Australian territory and feature an Australian bird species. WebThe 2024 BirdLife Australia Photography Awards have recently revealed their winning images, selected from a pool of over 5,600 submissions from photographers worldwide. The competition not only served as a way to raise funds for bird conservation efforts, but also as a celebration of the beauty and diversity of these amazing creatures.

WebEntries will open on Friday, 15 May for the 2024 BirdLife Australia Photography Awards, which introduces two new categories. The competition is open to people of any nationality but only photos of Australian bird species as listed in Current Version of the Working List of Australian Birds will be considered. WebEntries close on August 1st, 2024. The winning images, including the portfolio, will be featured in an upcoming issue of Australian BirdLife magazine. As in previous years, The Guardian’s online People’s Choice Awards will be running, featuring images from our 2024 competition.
