I finally moved to the … Web100-400 or the 400 f5.6, or the previously mentioned Sigma/Tamron 150-600s. The G1 Tamron and Sigma Contemporary seem very similar (and very good). I went for the 100-400 and a 1.4 myself. I couldn't see myself carrying the weight of the 150-600s, the 100-400 is really quite manageable. Saying that $500 for the 300mm is a nice deal.

Keep the 100-400 for zoom. The 150-600 sport is a nice lens, but heavy for a zoom. I haven’t used the 60-600, but from what I’ve read, it gets soft getting to 600mm.
